Hi again, thanks for all the additional information (and for the Welcome Ilmatic07).

feddup - you can be proud of me, I have now read the entire manual and even the warranty booklets (though I skimmed some of that). The manual definitely had a lot of info it that was good to know.

As far at the boyfriend goes... he has now driven my Fit and likes it. He never hated the Fit, he's a Fit fan and wanted one for himself if I wasn't going to buy one, but he just wanted MT.

So life with my Fit is all good I've installed the Honda floor mats (found a place to buy them cheaper then my local dealer because of these forums!). I even did the full hook installs for the front mats and the one rear one that needed it. What a pain, but now it's done at least. I got a cargo cover too

Welcome to the site! We're always glad to see new members. Like others I always drive with the rear seats folded flat to get the headrests out of the way. I don't usually have passengers, but when I do it only takes a few seconds to pop the seats back up. As for the transmission, don't let others tell you what you should have got. All that's important is that you like your new car! Once again, welcome and since you're in Cali I'd suggest going to one of those giant meets you west coast people are always having.

Tell your boyfrient to chill out. It is your car and your choice. When he puts a ring on your finger, then he get to have an input on the car.

I love my auto. I am getting to old, and my knees to sore to drive a MT.

Please do not take off the read headrests. Learn to live with them and use your side mirrord to assist in rear vision. I have several hot spots on my spine since a werck almost 15 years ago when I was driving a pickup delivery truck and got hit from behind. My head snapped back and took out the rear window. There are two spots between my sholders on my spine , that even after many months and years of theraoy have not recovered. I have done the holistic and the MD route. Nothing works. Had there been headrests in older trucks I would not have this issue or the glass still embeded in my skull.
