I'm about to own a Fit!

Hiya! I'm going to be getting my Fit within the next week, and I'm really excited about it. It might even happen as early as tomorrow

Since I'm getting the car for school (I'm going to be a graduate student, commuting about 200mi/week), I was looking for something nice and economical, and the Fit seems to...well, fit the bill! Hehe.

Anyway, I'm already looking to change a few things in it, mostly because I'm getting a used 2007 base model. Fun stuff.

The first thing I want to do is add a keyless entry system, since this one doesn't come with it. What I'm wondering is if it would be possible to just program a key fob to work with it. I've found official aftermarket Honda parts, but I don't want to have to spend a lot of money on installation, you know? I read somewhere that it would be possible to only program the fob, but I'm not sure if that's only for 08-present. I don't really care about having the key built into the remote, so if I can just have that drilled off, it would be A+.

After that, I think I'm definitely going for a new stereo, so I can add Auxiliary input and Bluetooth functionality. That seems really useful to me.

What mods does everyone think would be best for a brand-new Fit owner?

Thanks!

Agreed. Make it easier on yourself and just buy a sport if you can.

Welcome CandyBeans,

You can get OEM keyless entry for the base fit here for $96.

Honda Fit Accessories - Genuine Factory Honda Accessories

The only reason I would go for the sport is the cruise control. You can put rims on a base just as easy as a sport.
