Buying my first Fit - help with engine noise!
I am hoping someone can offer me some advice on a used Honda Fit I am looking at buying . . . It is a 2007 Honda Fit Sport with just under 24,000 km on it. It was a commuter car that near left the city. The dealer has a mechanical inspection that says everything is good with no recommendations. I have spoken to the Honda were it was bought and service and they verified the kilometres and that there were no recommendations from the last service. The last service was July 2010 because no one figured there have been enough kms put on it to warrant service and the computer say the oil is still at 30%.
So here is my problem, I have test drove the Fit twice now and I hear a sound like fluid shifting when I come to a stop - it sounds like I have a water jug sitting in the dash that sloshes when I come to a full stop. I heard this 3 times when I stop out of a 1/2 hour test drive. When I took it back to the dealer and asked him to come with me, I couldn't get it to make the sound!
The dealer is sure it's nothing, but is willing to let me take it to a Honda to look at - at my cost. Should I pay the money to have it inspected?
