Checking out used 2016 fit. What to look for?

First post! I test drove a 2016 fit a few days ago and loved it. I wasn't even looking into one until I saw a 2016 model at a local Ford dealer for $12,500 with 30k miles. The one I test drove was at a Honda dealer, though.

Anyway, what should I look for or ask about the used model I'm checking out later today? "Clean" carfax, no info on maintenance though. Thanks for any help.

Open hood doors and rear gate for rust in da hinges.

Also open all windows including sunroof for functionality.

Went to see it, and it looks fine. Original owner lived in a town near the ocean so I could see some sand on it even after the dealer washed it.

As we were test driving it, the check engine light turned on. It also had a strong smell in the interior. My guess it's from whatever cleaning agents the dealer uses. It would definitely need a personal touch to clean the inside. No service records to show for and that's a big concern for us, seeing how it has 30k miles in one year.

It drove great and we'd still want to get a fit. Would no service records be of concern to any of you? It's 6,000 miles away from 36,000 miles. I'm still within the Honda warranty should I buy it.

What type of maintenance should it have already had at 30k miles?

id stay away from it if the SES came on. could be a pita repetitive 02 sensor related issue.

up to 30K miles is basic maintenance, oil change, air filter change, visual inspection and adjustments if necessary. dont let the hype get da best of u.
