Hopeful Future Fit Freak
Greetings!
My name is Joe. I'm 27 and I'm from New Jersey. I am an all around car nut and in the ten years I've had a driver's license, I've had 9 cars, starting with a Volvo 850 Turbo, then a Subaru SVX, a couple of 4Runners and at present, I have a 2011 Hyundai Santa Fe as my daily driver and a 1995 Infiniti G20 which was my daily before the Hyundai, which is now sitting and waiting for repairs so it can be sold.
Basically, I'm looking for something a bit more economical than my Santa Fe. First off, I'd like to get rid of the car payment, but I'd also like something that gets better than 21 mpg. I'd be looking for a 2009 model year that would probably have at least 130k miles on it, as I am on about a $5k budget. Checking out Craigslist makes me think that'ssomewhat realistic.
The other two big things the Fit has that I like are the excellent crash test ratings and the huge cargo area for the size of the car. Something that I do on the side is fix up and sell old pinball machines and the Fit is fairly popular among people who haul machines around
Such a purchase probably won't happen for a month or two, but I want to start learning now.
Thanks in advance!
Joe
