LED Installaion, DRL & Reverse Light Flicker: Gen 3 Fit EX

Hi, new to Fit and this forum. Got a brand new 2020 EX auto.
I switched to LED reverse using this brand:
Amazon Amazon

Every time reverse is engaged, the light will blink a few times and then stay on (so long as transmission is in R).
According to the product description (which admitted I didn't read carefully until after installation) this is normal. Quote:
  • This bulb will strobe flash at the beginning of braking model and then keep solid light, which is legal blinking for braking stop safety alert, much easier noticed while braking and much safer for braking.
Is that any reason to worry? Should I change to a non-blinking type bulb?
Thanks in advance for any advice.

I would have recommend a reputable brand such as Sylvania. I don't know how long that chinese led bulb will last.

Thanks, Ben.
I'll see how long this last. Will report back in a few months...
I also ordered H4 LED plus Canbus decoder and will see how those turn out.

Ask yourself for how long you're in reverse on a daily basis. It should last a while...

Update:
Installed LED headlamp. Observations:
  • When installed w/o canbus decoder, there is DRL flicker but only when viewed from a camera lense; not visible to the naked eye. The DRL brightness is identical, far as I can tell (meaning quite dim), just like the factory halogens.
  • When installed w/ canbus decoder, the DRL flicker stops but it looks like the headlamps are on high beam all the time (headlight switched turned to off, meaning DRL mode runs on default). See pic below:
  • When headlamp is actually turned on, it looks 'normal'. See pic below:

  • Happy to see that neither mode blinds oncoming drivers, which was my main concern installing LEDs on reflectors. I usually set the headlight on 'Auto' so that the so-called high beam only comes on during the day.
  • I might decide to take out the canbus decoder and simply have DRL flicker (again invisible to naked eye). From what I read, flickering LEDs do no harm.
