First Fit in USA w HID retrofit!

he tried to use some aftermarket angel eyes and it didn't look right. I'm not sure about oem though.

not sure about that. I think it depends if the directional output of the bulb is similar.
as far as high/low you would need something like a X5 projector which I have in the truck. it'll move the lense to get high low.

With the retrofits, do we still use our current aftermarket HIDs, or do we have to go with the D2 bulbs?
Right now I have high/low beams. I want to keep my high/low beams. So with the retrofit, I guess it's a possibility we can just use the projector glass itself and still use our reflector for highbeams?

so it sounds like the high beams will have to be tapped onto the shutter on the retro fit. If that's the case, we'll have to use single beam HID bulbs.

i roadtested them last night and OMG, so nice. i'm going to readjust them a little higher but it just brightens up the road.

no, your not the first, actually i was, lol, if you search for my thread you'll see, though i never got farther then you have with finishing it completely, i did atleast get the projectors mounted into the housing, aligned on the wall for cutoff, just never put the clear lens back on, so it sat in my clsoet for many months, then to top that off i traded my Fit off about 2 weeks ago for a truck that i need more then a small car.

Reeeeeeaaaallllyy looking forward to the "how to"
Did you take any pictures during the conversion? You said it took 8 hours. This is for both, start to finish? Just wondering because I was thinking that I would have to buy another set of stock lights to convert because it would take so long. It looks like you can remove the light assembly without removing the bumper. True? I know for wiring purposes bumper removal is recommended. I just have to be able to remove an convert one assembly in a day to keep the wife at bay. PW'd yes, but it's great P.
HID projectors and car look great.
A note to the HID kit folk. They only look great when you don't have an alternative which is pretty much the way it is now. Once vendors step in or the knowledge of how to do it becomes trivialized proper projector HID will rule. HID kits will fade in popularity except for those who don't drive at night and think a fart can and K&N filter will add 20 hp and 10 mpg to their auto tranny cars.
One thing:
real HID = HID projectors
real HID light assemblies = HID projectors with motorized aiming
I would expect the Fit to be sensitive to weight. Without aiming (even manual adj) you have to either compromise the performance at light loads to avoid glare with porkers in the back or you have good performance with you and a passenger and blind everybody with a load. If we had load leveling we could compensate also.
