sounds good, now i have a new project. Is sanding or a plastic primer recommended? I think I'll probably go ahead and paint the surrounds for my fog lights too.

I want to also get a CF hood and spoiler and paint my roof flat black. That'll have to wait though, I'm still paying for my rims!

i don't know how I feel about the flat black roof.. you'll have to post that up. In my head I don't like it, but who knows!

Well I would definitely get the roof professionally done and clear coated. I may even go glossy black. My rims are a gloss black with machined lip.

i'm surprised they haven't made a carbon fiber roof for the fit yet, like for the teg. seems they have carbonfiber everything else for it.

My plan is to get the lights flat black, and put tw eyebrows on it. I think its gonna look mean as hell. Of course that all depends on how the lights come out.

still no one knows about how to reassemble the lights? re-heat?

When I did this same thing on a civic years ago I didn't heat them at all. I pryed the headlights apart and then resealed them with silicone and never had any problems out of them.

If you go the oven route I would imagine that after you let the paint dry to the touch that you could put the pieces back in the oven and reheat them and press them back together. It would serve a double purpose by reheating the sealant and also curing the paint a bit.

eh ok.. wouldn't hurt. from what I heard about the fit headlights is that the backing is softer than civic headlights, so i think prying without heating may be out of the question. I was just curious to know if anyone did have to reseal them like you did with your civic.

Good question. I haven't investigated the Fit headlights at all so take my theories with a grain of salt! I'm sure they are made pretty cheap just like the freakin carpet.

Yeah, I think the oven method is the way to go. When I put my headlights back together I will just reheat everything and put the squeeze on them when they cool. I'll try to take some pics.

haven't done it yet either, but I will reheat in oven then press together.

if there are any leaks later silcone is always good.

hmm.. i think black with ssm would look pretty good. I dunno about wiht white though.

so, went to take the headlights out today. they seem a little bit different than with those I have worked with before..... do I have to take the bumper off to get them out? or is there a bolt or something i am overlooking?

ahh.. you do. i looked at a bumper removal diy, and the bumper actually clips on to the headlights. guess i'm going to have to wait until next weekend.

normally when i do headlights i preheat the oven about 30min at about 150 degrees, put the lights in about 20min and the glue comes apart real easy. use dupli color or krylon primer and krylon semi flat black, ultra flat is hard to get an even looking finish

George, I see that your car is pictured by a cut of UP autoracks. Do you work for the railroad? I only ask because I am a Norfolk Southern employee myself.
