its on my car now, and it isn't going anywhere. but the quality could be better, the vinyl should be thicker with a stronger adhesive and the clear applicator tape shouldn't have such a strong adhesive on it. ...personally i felt that shipping was pretty steep too

end result being, i am extremely happy with how it looks

hahahahaha im glad my post helped you out, ya i tried to be as carefull as i could but i didnt think i had to be that carefull, its all good though my friend is just going to make me one so i didnt luck out. im glad to hear that urs went smoothly

Man... we use clear application tape which actually makes installation easier, and it also has a lower tack. The vinyl used is 2 mil high performance, 7 year rated. FAR from cheap stuff! I've installed the 3rd window graphic on probably 8 Fits and NEVER had the problems you guys are mentioning. And 7 of those 8 were on tinted windows. Definitely never had an adhesion problem.

I'm real curious how the heck it happened to more then 1 of you. I could see 1, since there could be something on the tint/window, etc. Always clean properly with isopropyl alcohol or another quality cleaner that wont leave residue before applying any adhesive graphic.

why even bother make one up yourself, that's too fustrating.. just have a computer make the cuts on some high quality vinyl. so mike there from mobileimage can hook you up. those two decals (the overlay and 3rd brake light) will run like $24 shipping included and that's comparable to having a custom decal made somewhere else. check it out: mobileimage

Sorry to hear about the trouble pulling the application tape and vinyl off. Some of my competitors use cheap products and this is a result. I am not talking bad about anyones products but i have never had a complaint about my vinyl because i use a high tac application tape and avery brand vinyl. The lower tac tape tends to let go of the vinyl on the backing paper making it a pain to peel off.

Glad you got it on and it looks good!

awesome, i had some doubts about debadging it but after you have it off and all waxed and cleaned up it looks sooo much better! much cleaner. to get it off i just heated it up a little bit then used some warm soapy water goo gone and dental floss. then washed the car and waxed it. take some pictures then to show us how it went.

I just went to a sign/decal shop here in town and asked for some scrap black vinyl, then just cut out the design I wanted (Oakley logo) and stuck it to the inside of the rear glass in front of the third brake light. Also had to cut out a section of the window tint so it would show through good, but looks great and only cost me 15-20 minutes of time to cut out the logo.

I am wanting this for my 3rd brake light in the worst way. My window tint is like 90% in the rear. Will this effect the looks at all if I go with this overlay on my light?

90% Tint in the rear? I've never heard of tinting that lightly, but the black vinyl completely blocks the light and that's why you would cut out the design you want to show through. My tint is 20% so it's pretty dark-that's why I went ahead and cut out a small section of the tint in front of the brake light to allow maximum illumination from the design. Hope this helps, thanks.

Sorry red08fit, I didn't mean 90%. I was working on two emails at once and was thinking one thing and typing another on here damn it. So much for multitasking.

My rears are 20% as yours. I was worried that the window would be too dark for the cutout to make a diff?

Sorry about the confusion. LOL
