I was pondering a retrofit for my Fit, but I'm curious if it can be done and keep the color of the housing i.e. red in my case, or would it need to be black? Also, do you just run regular halogens in the projector housing or do you run HID's? totally lost on that one lol

 

from what I understand, the painting is optional...but black just looks better all around imo.

If you are going to leave the housing red, I would suggest painting the headlight reflector bowl red as well then.

For projectors I would assume HID's to be a necessity

 

you need the whole HID set up i e ballast, hid bulb mostly D2s type, projector, harness etc.. if you want the OEM look you can leave it red but you have to paint the reflector bowl black. there is a DIY on how to in the lightning section you can follow it.
