From looking at the kits they are nice with the phillips ballasts but they are not the "bi xenon" bulbs

I found a place that sells a McColluck kit for the same and it is the bi-xenon style so that we don't lose out High beams

There is no such thing a bixenon bulb. There is just a solenoid controlled shutter to expose more light for high beam mode.

I dont recommend a HID kit. It will glare, and the output wont be great. Especially to the OP that has the s2k (which has some of the best HID low beams); the output of the Hid Kit was pale in comparison.

The link you pasted even says "This is a single-capsule that generates regular low beam & high beam using the HID capsule patterns. This is done by using a movable shutter."

Bro, thats a hack job. In the OEM HID world, there are only two main types of bulbs. D2S for projector HIDS (04+TL, TSX, S2K,... ), and D2R for reflector based HID (99-03 TL, IS300,...).

You want find anything like that eBay link on any OEM car. I can imagine how much glare that kit has.

I can speak on that there is in fact a dual fitment H4 hid out in the market that is not controlled by a solenoid. I will have mine installed in a few days after i pick up my fit will take pictures and show you guys as soon as it;s done.. I will try to take a picture of the actual bulb sometime this weekend

I was talking about OEM HID. Not hack job two D2s bulbs soldered in to a single H4 bulb socket.

Anyways, using two HID bulbs (one for high/one for low) isnt the way to go. HID is meant to be turned on and left on; the flick on/off nature of the high beam will shorten the lifespan of the HID bulb. I can't imagine that to be good for the ballast/ignitor either.

Also, that means you will need 4 total ballasts. That means more wiring complexity, and more expensive electronics part to potentially fail.

any updates for the OP? did u eventually get an HID kit?

i put an HID kit on my Evo, which comes with halogens from the factory but has projectors. the outcome was really good. output almost same as factory HID Evo's as well as my s2k. cutoff is good too.

so without projectors how would the Fit work with just HID kits without retrofitting and paying 5 million dollars? i dont want to have too much glare and blind everybody, not to mention gettin pulled over by every cop in town.

would lowering the headlight level solve the problem completely?

thanks
