Working on my retrofit to end all retrofits

So, seeing as I have access to some killer HID parts, I'm compiling a pile of parts to retrofit into my Fit:

LS460 Projectors w/ Clear Shrouds (matched)
STi-R Clear Lenses
LED rings in the shrouds (first I've seen)
Denso/Matsushita Ballasts (haven't decided)
Trying to hunt down some Osram CBIs

Projectors with clear lenses swapped in and the clear shrouds installed:

We're doing the actual retrofit (with high-res pictures) next Saturday (10/1).

Oh and for my motorcycle it looks like I'll be doing Fusion fogs with custom housings. That will be a very involved install compared to this LS460 retro.

You should see them with the LED rings! Good grief it's mental.

We haven't decided if we want to do LED rings wired to the parking lights or switchback LEDs (that turn off and turn yellow LEDs on as signals) or not.

Edit: Quick shot:

I love seeing the work in progress threads on retrofits.

BTW, what kind of bike do you ride? I'm on a 2007 Suzuki GSX-R600. I'd love to see the retrofit on your bike too. Ride safe!

I had a 2009 Triumph Street Triple R.

We're so tied up with work that we don't have time to play and do our own retrofits. Matt wants a second set of headlights for his FJ with Q45 7-beams. It sucks they're low-beam only, but they would look mental on his truck.

I also decided doing just low beams on the bike is a bad idea so we're trying to get custom waterproof housings made for Bi-Xenon projectors. They will be very popular for the naked motorcycles, custom vehicles, and our customers that have experimental aircraft.

They are technically all illegal. However, if they're aimed properly no cop would be of the wiser. You can use OEM components which at some point were DOT legal.

After reading about what you're doing.... it's become my dream retrofit mod as well.

Can't wait to see you complete it.

I'm doing some headlights for a customer painted like jnesselroad's:

I think for my own setup, I'm going to do similar rings in body color and the rest in gloss black, all Sikkens paint. This will help push it from extreme to just mental.

We're going to try to get custom switchback "horseshoe" LEDs made for these so the LED ring doesn't sit in front of the 'reflector' portion of the bottom of the LS460s

For example:

Custom LED rings are on the way and my bulbs just arrived from overseas. Haven't decided if I want to use CBIs or SVSs. Have both here.

New 2012 Sport housings are $440. I'll be buying them soon to start the build.

The LED rings are probably going to be the biggest / most radical part of this installation, so I want them to be flawless. We found another manufacturer of them that we are now waiting on samples from. The projector and install are all pretty much one-way without much adjustment. I haven't decided if I want to keep the reflector bowls chrome or paint them black--the former would look more factory, which is something I prefer.
