4 channel amp location

alright, scosche has the double din conversion, i've looked into headunits and speakers, but i want to add an amp for the speakers.

the amp i'm looking at has the following dimensions:
8.86" L x 10.31" W x 2.56" H

my question is this: is there space somewhere in the dash that i may be able to mount this?

i don't have a fit yet, so i can't check, so if anyone would be kind enough to check it out and tell me if there are any clearence issues, i'd appreciate it.

You might be able to fit that somewhere below the passenger side dash. It will be very tight thought. I look at it when I was mounting my amp. It is similar size to that. I was about to put it below one of the rear passenger seats, but when you arrange the seats into the wagon mode the seats would not be flush to the ground. I ended up putting it in the trunk on the driver side plastic next to the wheel.

Here's a pic of my amp location.

There's a decent amount of room under the steering column. Getting to it will be a pain, and you'll probably have to fabricate brackets and/or mounting surface.

Under the passenger side is also a possibility, but it's real tight.

I'm going to just build a rack for the trunk.

is there any extra space between the underside of the spare compartment and the spare tire?

for the speaker amp, i want it hidden, so i'm just trying to find a place i can hide it...

now on to subs...

i don't want to have anything that takes away from the fit's modes, so i was thinking of bazooka tubes, maybe one on each side. anyone have any experience with these and the sound quality/reliability/performance?

I think he just wants an amp for his highs and mids.

smeister is right, the current setup for the amp with the dimentions i gave is for the speakers (highs and mids). the sub is obviously not possible to hide, therefore the amp will be connected to that. my sub setup will be one piece so i can take it out when transporting cargo.

the speaker amp will always be installed, so i am looking for a location to hide it.

Seen quite a few Jazz / Fit installs throughout Asia with an amp built into a false floor on the passenger side floor. Even saw one install with a sub built in there (don't know how well that would go though). Just remember the fuel tank is under the front seats.

That was my idea. Maby man, I was advised against it, but It just might kick some ass.
