Would the accord OEM knob fit in the fit?

Add a sporty feel – and superior grip – to your Honda’s manual transmission with the Honda Sedan smooth leather shift knob.
Normally, i'd think the answer is "yes. it's a honda". But i looked at the instructions, and now I'm not as sure. Check the instructions and tell me if it's anything worth noting. In there, it says to reuse a "ring". I want to know if this ring is essential to screw the knob in.
edit: Manual Transmission Shifter Knob, smarly styled in copper, adds flair to your Element's interior this one is nice too, altho not leather.
Do they sell these accessories at honda dealerships? so i can take a look at them?

it will screw in fine, the ring I believe will help hold the shift boot up. Now I don't know if it will look funny w/ or w/o it but the stock boot on the Fit will not hang loose, it will go up toward the knob..but yeah all Hondas are threaded the same.
