External USB HD to OEM unit interface

Guys,
I would love to smack aftermarket double din stereo/nav unit with bluetooth and HD mp3 jukebox, but not for thousand bucks +!
I am content with OEM unit and MP3 display capabilities with folder browsing. I just hate fiddling with CD's and I am not falling into IPod craze either at hundreds of dollars. I can't justify buying any other MP3 players either since I do not walk around listening to music.
What I have plenty of is external USB hard drives in both PC and notebook size and ton of GB space!
I contacted "car2pc" and asked if they have anything that could make it possible to connect external USB HD to OEM unit and they replied!
They are working on it and asked me if I would be interested in being a beta tester for the unit sometime in January! Rock on!
So to everybody wondering the same thing I did, help is on the way!
For everybody looking to install PC in their Fit stealth way with OEM unit in place check "car2PC" for their inteface. It might be just the thing you need to operate music of your PC straight from OEM unit buttons!

That sounds very interesting. I got an Ipod right after I got the Fit, so I'm not quite your target audience, but I know some other people who will be very interested.

An interface that will plug in on the back of OEM stereo, just like Honda Ipod interface, and connect to an external USB hard drive of any size loaded with MP3's or WM files. I will be able to scroll through folders and songs through buttons on the OEM stereo. Hopefully they will have functionality of text tags on the OEM stereo display just like Ipod interface.

I am sure it will be on the back of the OEM radio just like Honda Ipod interface.
Check "car2PC" website. I forgot if it is .com or something else. Just Goggle for it.

It does exits....

They do have USB media interface-able units on ebay that allow using USB harddrives and USB memory to connect directly as a CD changer unit that plugs right into your HONDA CD changer plug on the back of the unit. Fits most hondas including Accords, Civics, and Fit/Jazz

You have the HON1 working on a Fit? Is it a 2007 or 2008? And is it the base model or the sport?
