Changing head unit and keeping USB cable inside glovebox usable?
Redundant post -- please delete!
Greetings y'all!
I got my Honda Fit Base MT 2012 last week. Almost immediately I noticed how abysmal the audio system is. The sound feels so empty. Looking at some forum posts, it seems like I can get a much better sound by just replacing the head unit. So here's the question. Crutchfield website mentions that USB port inside glovebox will not be usable after changing the stock head unit. Has anyone come up with a solution for maintaining USB cable usability?
As a side question I'd like to hear some recommendations on head unit replacement. My priority is clarity and crispiness of the sound. I don't care much about other features.

Surprised no one's replied to this yet..
I have a Fit Sport 2010, and replaced the stock HU with a Kenwood Excelon KDC-X996. LOVE this HU.. Difference is night and day.. As far as the USB cable, I had the work done at Best Buy and specifically told them to keep the USB cable if possible. Come to find out, they were able to use the USB cable, but it was tucked into the USB slot, so instead of the cable coming out, it was just the port. I'll try to snap a pic today and give you a better idea on it.

I had a Pioneer AVIC-Z140BH installed into my 2013 Fit. The stock cable is gone, but we used the existing hole to wire in the usb cable for the deck. You can keep the usb cable in the glove box, but it probably won't be the same OEM cable depending on what HU you decided to get. I had to pay extra because pioneer has a different cable for the iPod interface.
