allready done one for a customer. it's a bit tricky since the headliner is so flimsy. You need to lower the headliner at the rear of the vehicle (hatch) and get a meal plate forward all the way to where the dome light is and screw that into the dome light mounts to hold the Monitor. Just so the screws have enough to bite into you can also probably get away with using 1/4" Masonite if it's just a monitor with no built in DVD player.

I thought about it before but its kind of a pain to instal it and everything else. Plus depending on what size screen it may cover your ability to see out the hatch when the screen is open. The tv in the headrest deal is prob gonna work better for what i need. What size monitor are you looking at if i may ask?

No pics, but it seemed the only way to get some reinforcement up there without putting bends in the headliner.

when ive installed them in larger suv's ive always used some 2x4s since there headliners are so huge, i just dont see one working in a fit without the metal plate he mentioned. That is a pretty cool idea tho, i may start using that on the installs i do for suv's

I'm still considering this for my ICE setup. I have a JVC AVX-33 installed already and it has video out and plays dvd, divx etc, but the screen is only 3.5 inches. A nice 7-10 inch flipdown for the back seat would be great.

If anyone gets this installed please post some pics.
