I got a guy from work who wants to sell me a dual 12 inch sub woofer and amp for $50.00. Photos are below.

I'm thinking of putting it in my fit. Its 3 months old.

My questions are:

Is there anyone here who has this setup?
Is this a good brand?
If I purchase this what other costs might I need to be aware of?
- Dampening pads?

I guess the burning question is, if I have this installed is there going to be a lo t of rattling noise from the car? Is it a safe bet to say I'm going to need to invest in some sound dampening cut outs?

Circuit City lists this for $189.99 so I'm guessing it's probably a lower end brand. But, for $50.00...

 

That is absolute flea market quality stuff there. It will work, but I'm aout 199.99% sre it will sound like slop and not last very long at all. it's $189.99 retail price for 2 subs and amp and the box. I checked their home page and they only sell this one kit. I'd personally oid it like the plague.

 

dont go cheap on your audio set up.

you pay for what you get normally.

i wouldnt do it, save your 50 bucks and go grab some dinner or something heh.


or just save up, because in the long run you will appreciate it better.

Most of the time there are people selling Kickers, JL, Rocksford Fosgate on craigslist. Theres where I got my set up. My amp is an older model RF but it works for me. Best to have them test it out for you before you buy.
