***Official Window Tint Thread***
Just got my 2007 Taffeta White Sport windows tinted a couple of weeks ago. I wanted the back three windows darker than the front two. Tint shop wouldn't do it. They said they can only do it for SUVs or Vans and I have a car. They said I could do the limo tint on the back window but that it would be hard to see through at night. I live in Houston, Texas.
Here are a few pics of mine. I have 32% on the windshield and front doors, and double limo on everthing else. It's too hot here in AZ not to have tint. Having it daker does keep the inside cooler.

Just had 25% LLumar ceramic tint installed on the front windows and it made a huge difference already... I have 5% on the back windows already wish they were not done already so I could have done 5% Ceramic Film.
Is having your windshield tinted legal in AZ? Can you see out at night?
How do you have double limo tint installed? The fit doesn't come with factory tint and most shops I talked to wouldn't not lay film over film due to it not adhering.
I just picked my car up from getting tinted

It's 30% on all of the windows. I'm really happy with it, except I do see a few dust specks. I know I need to wait for all the bubbles to settle, but the dust specks are definitely there. Is it even possible to get a perfect tint job? Is this something I should be upset about? Or does everyone deal with this and just accept it?

It honestly depends on the skill of the tinter. Some can shave the tint right to the edge. Some don't have the skills and leave a gap. If it's big enough I would think about taking it back and having it re-tinted.
With the recent surge in smash and grab crimes, I've decided to get serious about installing safety & security films on my Honda. I've been doing some research, and Llumar films seem to be the best way to go. They have this awesome infographic that laid out all the facts and helped me to understand exactly what safety and security films can do for my car. Here's the link. Hope it can help someone else too! http://www.allprowindowtinting.com/d...rity-films.pdf
Global Ceramic, 70% front 40% rears
Just wanted to give some people examples of my tint. BTW If you are taking pictures of your tint to post examples, try to minimize reflections as much as possible. One thing I had a hard time while looking through the examples was the reflections made the tint very hard to see.
This is Global films ceramic tint, 70% front 40% rear. My primary goal was to reduce heat on long drives, (I do a ton of driving, cant really afford the plane) while giving some shade and reducing that fish bowl feeling. I also wanted to make sure I'D NEVER GET A TICKET for this stuff. You cannot have any film on the front windows in CA, punishable by death. Compared to a lot of the cars in SoCal mine is very light, the fronts are unnoticeable. Anyway here is my 2 day old tint.

The windshield is also tinted.....can you tell? (Didn't really want to mess with this but it is the biggest window in the car, I am happy I tinted it)

Front door from the inside. This picture makes the tint look darker then it actually appears.

Back door from the inside, this picture is a good example.

So far, the ceramic tint seems to do a good job of slowing down the heat from the sun. But as mentioned some where on this forum, if your car is sitting in the sun, eventually it will get just as hot with or without tint.
However, it definitely helps. Example: You cannot roll your windows down for a few days after install. On the way home from the tint shop, the sun was shining bright and it was pretty warm. I noticed I didn't even need the AC until the drive was almost over. This was after the car had been sitting in the sun for I don't know how long. My fiance cant stand sitting in the sun on a long drive home from her parents. This should keep her much more comfortable.

I would like to take back some of my comments made in the previous post. I left the car sitting in the sun all day yesterday. I walked to lunch so I didn't even once open the door. The car feels much cooler on the inside. I didn't use a thermometer, but ill say this. Without the tint I'd have to roll down all the windows and wait for the ac. This time, it wasn't too much warmer on the inside of the car then outside. Stuffy yes, but not nearly as hot as it used to get. VERY happy with the ceramic tinting and would HIGHLY recommend it. Credit to tint works in goleta for great workmanship.
I am thinking about putting 25% tint on all the way around. I want 20%, but in Toronto, that is pushing it, and I do not want run ins with the police. What do you guys think? will 25% give me that dark feeling that I desire from 20% without the harassment from police?
