Sub question

First, thanks to everyone for feedback in many other posts. This is probably going to sound retarded, but here goes. I have some old Pioneer 8" (300W, I think) subs that used to be in my old S10. I've tried to sell them via Craigslist, to no avail. I am thinking of taking the box apart and removing the subs. What I'd like to do is possibly build a custom enclosure for one of them. From there, I'd set it up with some sort of quick disconnect set up for easy removal. My question is, would it be possible to power this sub with just a Pioneer DEHP5000UB head unit alone? I doubt it, but I just wanted to plan ahead. I'm kicking myself for blowing out all my old ICE stuff from my first Civic...

That not really gonna be an option. However, you could find a very inexpensive, very small amp that should be able to do an adequate job and would just mount to the small box you build.

will not work off a head unit alone. You can find tons of cheap small amps on ebay though for under $40.

Don't buy based on looks or specs. just get a reputable brand name amp.
