silver ring around auto shift shaft

silver ring around auto shift shaft

wanted to know if anyone know how ot remove the round silver plastic ring from around the auto shift shaft..does console have to come out also???

+1 i want to know the same thing

i was stupid last week and let one of those leaf air freshners be wrapped around the shift boot and it took some paint off the silver ring after 2 days

leaf air freshner on silver ring FTL!

Yes, console needs to be removed.
Then, unscrew the three screws from the inside and it'll come out.

It's really not that bad, I take them out a lot I can probably do it in 3 min. It's just 2 clips down at the front, 2 screws at the back, remove the cover under the e-brake, lift the console, unplug cig lighter plug and aux plug up front and you can removed the console.

its super dooper easy. i took mine apart last night to change my shift boot.

Is there an easy way to re-install the clips at the front. They were a real PITA to put back in... I had to put my hand behind the console to separate the 2 prongs, it took me 10 minutes just to get those to lock.

honestly...i just let those f'ers go lol
installed my shifter hard mount and no clips in the front now haha
i hate the design of those stupid clips and they are EVERYWHERE
