you could instal in two places..

1:under the front seats
2:mount it on back of the back seats.

This is where I mount my 2-channel Amp. I hope it helps.

The Amp is hidden between the back of the back seat and the box.

Here's what I've done....

4 Channel amp under the front seat.

Sub amp under the bottom of the magic seat.

Custom fabricated box in the hatch area.

Thanks! There just isn't a lot off alternatives for such a small space and locating the amps where I did, limits your choices. Luckly, these high end Alpines were small and fit perfectly. The box is fiberglass and attaches neatly to the right side of the hatch. It's easily removed...

The seat functions as normal. There are very few amps that the seat will accomodate and still fold down without binding. The alpine PDX series is one. JL makes one that will work along with Sony.

wait wait wait.... so ur telling me that alpine amp fits under the seats even when the seats are folded down for utility mode?! I wanna see a picture of that!! Did u just screw it into the back of the plastic or did u use special mounting techniques cuz the amp is fighting gravity. i've been lookin for something like that for my new amp/sub combo. If it does really still fold down, ima place an order right now for one!

I'm not sure what you mean by utility mode. The seat bottom folds up and locks in place as well as unlocks and drops down in place as a seat cushion without the amp hitting or binding on anything.
I used sheet rock screws and went directly into the plastic at all 4 corners of the amp. Everything is held on solid and tight. Gravity is no issue.

utility mode is when you lower the seat back cushion so it sits on the floor and so u have a huge cargo area. Like this:

It looks good at how tall mode and regular seating works good, but i don't think it'll work in utility mode without the amp hitting the floor.

As long as you don't use foot long screws, I think you'll be OK...

Use the shortest drywall screws you can find. They grab nicely and there's no need to go to much further beyond the plastic.
