I NEVER have had to turn the heater on! The amps generate more than enough heat for the coldest day in California.

Hey mrwilli1.

The pictures you posted on the first page are not showing up.

Is there anyway you could either link them up again or point me to somewhere that I could view them?

Thanks!!

As long as you mount them as above, they work fine and the Magic Seats function properly...

I'm looking to upgrade the sound system in my '07, and stumbled on this thread when looking for ideas on amplifier mounting . . .

Sorry, but this is impossible. When folded flat, the seats are completely flush to the rear floor & center hump.

I don't want any of my hard work visible from outside the car, so for amp mounting, it looks like I'm gonna have to deal with the limited space available under the front seats. Anyone happen to know off-hand how the seats are mounted? Would it possible to slide some washers between the rails & the floorboards for an extra half inch or so of vertical space?

Checked this out today for myself - 3 of the 4 mount bolts are parallel to the floorboards, so adding washers would be possible on those corners. The 4th one (one of the front bolts) is on an angle, though. So it'd be possible to raise the rear of the seat some for a little extra clearance, but I don't know if that would help much, since the floor slopes upwards to the front of the seat to begin with. It's the front of the seat where more vertical space would be handy. I suppose something could be fabricated that chances the mount angle of that one corner, but I'm not sure it's worth the effort.

In taking some other measurements, I don't think I could get even a small amp tucked under the front seats as much as I'd like, and maintain full range of motion front & back. And with someone sitting in the rear seat, I still want some foot room available. I want to avoid having passengers feet smashed up into the amplifier, which is what my current situation is in the Prelude. In the Prelude it hasn't been an issue since the rear seats are pretty vestigial, and noone wants to sit back there.

So it looks like I'll be mounting an amp in the spare tire well. With a small 4-channel, there should still be enough volume available for the custom enclosure I'm planning.
