I'm looking for the best and fastest iPod control through a double DIN video head unit.

Im looking at the pioneer avh-4000dvd or the pioneer avic-D3, any personal experiences with their iPod controls?

Are there better video head units by other companies for around $500-$600?

Alpine wins hands down in iPod control. although they are overpriced and severely lack features.

The Pioneer units are all very simlar for iPod conrol and are well done but a little slow.

 

Dude my AVH 400DVD does awesome with iPods.

I wasn't knocking anything. But fact is Alpine has a better ipod interface and faster controls than pioneer.

I Install alot of Pioneer (mostly preiere) Alpine and kenwood units. and it's pretty rare we sell em without an ipod adapter/cable. Pioneers iPd interface is good, Alpine's is better. Pioneer has way more features for the money and in my experience of late, better quality components.

Kenwoods iPod interface is slow. but they have more features than pioneer as a whole. just slower USB and iPod interfacing.

 

Anyone know if the USB in the glove box for the Sport still works if you install the Pioneer AVH-5000DVD? Or any other type like it? If anyone has installed any on the '09s please upload pictures ^___^

does not work, it's connected to the OEm head unit. although the AVH5000 allready has a USB cable with it. If you wanted you can by a shorty extension and splice into the OEm honda USB plug for OEM integration..or do what everyone does and jus leave 12" of USB cable from the ehad unit loose in he glove box.
