iPod sync cable?
Does anyone know if there's a way to cut up an ipod sync cable and wire it to the head unit?
I know there's already an iPod kit out there, but I was just hoping there was a way that I can wire my iPhone to be able to charge and play music through my speakers without having to buy that kit.
Any information would be greatly appreciated

You can just plug your iPod into the auxiliary port. you need a double sided headphone cord ( don't know the technical term for it ).
I got mine for like $3 from radio shack. Here is one on there web site. 6-Ft. Shielded Cable with 1/4" Plugs - RadioShack.com
And you have a base fit right?
So check out this DIY it tells you how to wire up a auxiliary port since the base doesn't come with one.

Ya I saw that DIY. But I wanted to see if there was a way to wire up the power end of the iPod sync cable to the car's power and the data/audio part to the head unit that way I can play my music AND charge my iPhone
