need so much help

hey all...

im doing a complete change of my fits audio system and i am getting thoroughly frustrated. i followed sevferal instructions on here on how to mount my new 6.5 alpine type s speakers to the stock mounting bracket. unfourtunately the brackey broke while being p0ut back in. i decided to bite the bullet amd get the scosche 1" spacers instead and cut the ring on the door panel. my questions are:

1. do i need the 1/8" ring adapted that came with the speakers?

2. what are the purpose and how do i use the "speed clips" that came with it?

and most importantly

3. how the hell do i mount the speakers to the speaker mounting bracket. it seems like no combination of holes works in any way shape or form.

i am getting really frustrated here and any and all help would be greatly appreciated.

thanks

i havent taken the door panels apart yet, so i cant really visualize whats going on here. from the sounds of it, the solution is to make your own holes. or is there nothing there to screw it to? a pic would definately help.

1. not sure
2. speed clips let you turn a giant hole in the metal to a smaller screw holding hole. The side with the bump goes on the inside of the surface. The screw passes through the top part, through the hole, and into the "threads".
3. It's plastic. Sheetmetal screws work just fine.
