Make ACC socket full time

I just got an '09 Fit Sport and am disappointed that the power socket is only active with ACC or RUN. I hate having my GPS restart after gassing up or having lunch. Anyone changed the wiring to be full time on (not switched) and how did you do it?

Hondas have been like this pretty much forever. I've been kinda leery about messing with it though after my last Honda. If I left something with decent draw plugged in, say the Peltier-type cooler I used on my last long road trip, even though the ignition was off and thus the cooler was off, in almost exactly 5-minute intervals the car would unlock itself. I kid you not. There's a gremlin in the harness.

Myself I would bypass the entire shebang and run wires from the engine compartment with an inline fuse. To make it really different I would run it through a 3-way toggle switch, where one side is always on, the other ignition-switched, and center off.
