Question radar detector suction cups

I'd like to mount my radar detector above/next to the rear-view mirror... how do I get the suction cups to stick to the area of the windshield with the black dots..?

Seems like a stupid question... but I'm not sure what the workaround is, and its the perfect place to mount it..?

Thanks... André

If you have a Valentine One it comes with a visor mount that you can use to mount it on the headliner.

I doubt that suction cups will work within the "dotted" area.

P.S. If you have a Valentine, the Adams brand suction cups from Michaels, Hobby Lobby, and other craft stores are much better than the ones from Valentine.

If you have an Escort, K40, Bel, or Valentine and have replaced or are willing to replace your mirror with a "wedge mount" style mirror, this mount is great. Custom Made Connecting Mount for Radar Detector on 350Z and other Cars I have one of these and really like it.
