Question about removing factory tweeters

I am going to install Infinity Reference 6030cs 6-1/2" 2-Way Component System in my car this weekend. My question is do the factory tweeter covers come out or do you have to cut them off? I found this post https://www.fitfreak.net/forums/sale...tml#post576647 with a picture of the factory tweeter removed and it looks like they just come out after you detach the speaker. I just wanted to know ahead of time what I will need to do to get the new tweeters installed. Any insight would be greatly appreciated.
I will be pressed for time from the wife and I also will be installing Infinity Reference 6032si 6.5" 2-way Speakers Shallow in the rear doors.

yep the tweets just pop out, just get a trim remover tool or a very thin flathead screw driver and cover it with a cloth and pry it off. i used the trim tool. btw are you going to keep the old tweets, if not i might want to buy them.

just pry off?

not working for me, maybe i'm taking you too literally but i'm certain there is a screw keeping the housing on the tweeter and the whole door panel needs to be removed to take out the tweeter.

please someone either prove me wrong or show some removal pictures.

yeah you have to remove the door panel to get the tweeters out. They are screwed into the grill and maybe into the door panel as well. I dont remember as I did this when the panel was already off. Also the hole is a very weird shape so I filed it until I was able to get the new tweeter into that spot.

Hay guys, the GE Fit's tweeters are on the dash not the door, you're talking about different generations.
