weeelll, its been a while but thats the way it is here in recessionlandia as my wife puts it! The quarts are gone and in their place is an also cheap PowerBass componet set. only problem, they have an even wider basket that the others! Schitza! so now im pullin the "great pumpkin" manuever and just using to 5/8 spacers and screwing them down with sheet metal screws. it got too dark fast tonight (rain and clouds). so i will try to get them done mon. or tues. thank god i got a killer drill and longer screws! this job has been a head ache.

Take extra care that the cone of the speaker makes no contact with the door. I screwed that part up on my first attempt and my passenger door rattled and buzzed like to drive me insane!

update on an old thread....

Well, now I blew my front componets (woofers) and am in the process of replacing them. I was looking around for a replacement mid woofer type thingy...and wow! those bastards are expensive. Any ideas on what to do? Would you guys just get a pair of coax and plug em in? BTW...the tweeter and crossover are ok, just the woofer. I ran them too long with the stock stereo and now they are jacked up! I replaced the head unit with the alpine x200 mp3 player and it made a tremendous difference. Any help would be great guys and gals.
