retrofitting tweeters into a base fit

just got my base Fit last week and am disappointed with the sound quality. I'm thinking of installing new speakers as a first step, possibly Infinity 6.5 components in front and coax in back. I haven't taken the door panels off yet so I do not know if the door (steel) is pre-cut to accommodate tweeters in the stock location. Has anyone added tweeters to their base Fit? Did you only have to cut a hole in the door panel (plastic)? I have searched the forums and know about using a Metra spacer on the speakers, and trimming the door panel so it doesnt rub on the speaker. If properly trimmed, will the stock speaker baffle fit over 6.5" speakers?

Any advice on tweeter installation and correct installation of 6.5's would be great.
