Stock Tweeters / Upgraded Door Speakers

I plan on using a compact 4 channel amp to drive all four upgraded Infiniti door speakers, but for some reason could not make sense of the dash tweeters.

Will upgrading just the door speakers cause me to lose the factory dash tweeters?
Does the 3rd gen have a factory crossover?
Will I need a crossover if Im just upgrading the door speakers?
Will an upgraded door speaker work with the stock tweeter?

1. Not if you use the stock wiring. The tweeters are spliced off of the door speakers. If you upgrade the factory wiring, then you have obviously can run new wires for the tweeters.

2. They seem to be built into the tweeters and speakers.

3. That is a more complicated question as you can go either active or passive. If the speakers come with a crossover, then to protect them, I would suggest that you use the Xovers. It's really up to your listening preference.

4. Bassguitarist did just that. That is one configuration that I haven't done.
