the Fit Hybrid they mentioned....
"Customers paying a higher price for the Fit Hybrid will naturally expect a quieter, more comfortable ride than that of the Insight or current Fit, so we had to reduce NVH levels substantially," admits Hitomi. "We used a substantial amount of lightweight, sound-absorbing fiberglass wool inside the body panels to reduce engine and CVT whine reaching the cabin."

Google is your friend.

To get you started: Flashband is basically roof insulation for houses. Sound deadening works the same exact way. If you're obsessed with keeping weight down, flashband might not be your fancy, but it gets the job done.

Hardware stores should have it in stock.

I used Cascade and Raamatt. They're both way better then Dynomat.

Last time I bought a roll a few years ago it was little 100 for a big roll.
Not sure how much it's now.

I did my sound deadening almost 2 years ago and used Raammat.

This was the list I came up with way back then:

* Don't use (SBR Asphalts)
- B-Quiet, Brown Bead, Dynamat original, eDead v1, eDead v1se, FatMat

* Possibles (Butyl w/ Asphalt filler)
- B-Quiet Ultimate, RAAMat BXT

* Best (but $$) Butyl only
- Second Skin Dampifier, Dampifier Pro, Dynamat Extreme

Again, this was a list from about 1 1/2 years ago. Some of the products probably got better. I don't think they'd get worse.

Like I mentioned, I took the middle ground & had to be a Butyl based product...so went w/ RAAMat BXT. Used their Butyl based product for the vibration reduction and their closed-cell foam on top of that. Did entire interior except the roof. It ain't no 'cone of silence' though, but it really helped make the audio stuff sound nice.

Here's where I got the RAAMat: http://www.raamaudio.com/

I used Raamat CLD tiles, Ensolite foam, and Mass Loaded Vinyl (MLV).

what is the difference:

(SBR Asphalts)
(Butyl w/ Asphalt filler)

i saw dynamat extreme at ebay, it says peel n stick...this is my first time doing soundproofing
so the easier the better...before i peel n stick do ii need to do something like rub alcohol
to the surface?

this is a DD/ Family car.

thanks

When I did mine, there was an article that compared the different products by doing heat tests to see which ones stayed adhered to metal @ high temperatures--the butyl based ones won big-time. At the time, there were products that weren't butyl based, but now, I think most are butyl based.

I think I used rubbing alcohol prior to applying the mats. Some places are hard to get to, so u may not be able to clean EVERY spot, but just make sure the surfaces are basically clean.

Here's a decent 'how to' from the RAAMat site: How-To

If u found Dynamat Extreme that's great. Sound deadening isn't the easiest thing to do. It's kinda tedeous. Just gotta keep going. Good luck!

You could try my poorman sound deadening

http://www.team-integra.net/forum/di...2&ThreadPage=1

I made 2 of these and put it behind my rear quarter panel of my Integra, it helps. I just wish they sell those pink foam thing in a larger piece so i don't have to overlap like 4-5 of them to make a sheet. One cool thing about the roof tar and the pink foam is that, it actually retain the shape after it dried. I have the idea of using a vacuum bag, put the forms behind my door panel, vacuum it, and let it dry. So that it would take shape of my door panel, but I never get around to do it lol.
