A local guy is parting out his wrecked GE8 and I've sat in the GE8 seats which to me are more plush and confortable than the GD3. But will they bolt right in front and rear?

 

If there's some consistency in rail widths... you might be able to get the front in.

But, I'm pretty sure you won't get the rear in.

Just off the parts pictures from Bernardi's parts site, almost nothing is reused from GD to GE.

Granted, I haven't measured them, so it is "possible." So, ultimately, there's only two ways to find out for sure... someone takes some REALLY detailed measurements... or someone just tries it.

If the person is parting it for cheap, you can try it... and if it doesn't fit (but good condition) you might just be able to sell it off.

 

My mom owns a GE and i have a GD. im a noob when it comes to changing seats and fabrication... what would i need to measure maybe i can help you out?

 

If it isn't too much trouble just unbolt both passenger seats and see if the GE8 front seat bolts right in and if all the srs plugs fit. I appreciate.

 

hey if the price is right then i say go for it and make a project. if all fails then hey you have some gaming chairs!

 

I might be wrong but bet you'd lose the magic seat's functionality. I've never sat in one but the GE's seats DO look comfier!

 

Havent been able to get toghether with enough free time to unbolt both the seats, either im working or my mums working. Hopefully i can try some time soon...

Take some extra time with the GE8 seats - I thought they were pretty terrible: They are plush in a sense, but the foam is extremely soft, and you can feel the seat frame through the cushion. I could feel the frame jabbing at my sciatic nerve right along the groove between the seat bottom and the faux side bolsters. They felt fine when I first sat down, but after 20 mins or so, they became very uncomfortable. I had installed Clazzios with several layers of terrycloth between the covers and the seat to give it some extra cushioning.

If they really are more comfortable than the old seats... yikes!
