Here's how you do it with the JDM model.

The NA models are pretty much the same:

After you get the guages off, you need to stick your hand behind the hazard switch/vents and push the switch out

NOTE: I take no responsibility for any damage to yourself or your car if something goes wrong!!!

I used the shop manual that I found online to help me remove everything to install the JDM hazard switch.

Here are the pictures from the shop manual I used:

The clips are not too difficult to pull out. Just use constant force.

You need to remove the plugs that plug into the instrument cluster to remove the cluster.

Squeeze on the clips that hold the hazard switch in place. This will allow you to pull the switch out.

I just finished this. It took maybe about 20 minutes. Be sure to have a Phillips head screwdriver that is magnetic. Makes it much easier to remove and replace the screws.

It's not as difficult as all the pictures make it out to be. Each piece is removed pretty easily. The pictures really help with the whole process though.

I like the way it looks now though. The hazard button is more easily spotted now.

yes, just pull slowly. it will come off with a little force. you'll see in the first drawing I posted that it is just held in by some clips.

Well I got it done today, took me about 35 min , I lost a clip and a screw down the back while taking apart the instrument panel. Luckily I found both by opening up the fuse panel and looking back there with a flashlight. I think in total I removed 11 screws. I love how the Hazard pops out in red

Seriously... I love JDM bling just as much as the next person, but what's the point...? Going through all that crap to install, taking the chance of loosing clips... just to have a red hazard button...

looks good! .. no nicks or cracking of any plastic or anything? does the a/c vents just snap out when you pry at it?

oh one more thing, for those that did it through the dash, have you noticed any new rattles or anything of that sort?
