Please explain how you used those tools to remove the vent and hazard switch. Looks easy, but how do they fit? Is it a snap on kinda thing with tabs or is it something else?

i removed mine the same way. by taking out the a/c vent but i broke the stock hazard face off to get to the top and bottom clips that hold the button in. you can also use a small thin pocket screwdriver instead of going out and buying the pick kit.

1. stick your screwdriver inbetween the 2 vents. just enough to pry them apart so you can guide your screwdriver tip to the center. if you look inbetween the vents you will see the little knob that rotates the vents.

2. push the screwdriver to the left and pull up on the vent. it should pop out on the side you were pushing from and now just wiggle the side close to the hazard switch out.

3. break off the face of the old hazard switch and you will see on top and bottom the 2 clips that hold in the switch.

4. use your small screwdriver to push up on the bottom clip and down on the top clip. i did the bottom first and pulled forward and then popped out the top clip and it just came right out.

5. unplug your button and put in your hazard switch and then do it all in reverse.

I've had to removed my guage trim twice now, and lost 1 clip down the back both times. the second time it ended up UNDER the center console in the shifter area at the very bottom!! took me like an hour to sort that mess out lol. I had to remove the center console.

So guys if you can do this any way beside removing the gauge cluster I recommend it. Otherwise pray you don't lose the clips

I can't find this for much less than 32.00 plus shipping?

Why so much for such a relatively basic small piece...
anyone know any other sources? i've used google product search and ebay, figuring they're the cheapest but it's still not that cheap.

Arrggh...be careful on step 2 above. I just broke the little stick out that the vent latches. Now my vent only latches on one side!

Any suggestions in how to fix this? The vent still works but it is not as sturdy as it should. I am thinking to drill a hole through and put a little rod so the vent can latch on to it.

you pushed too hard. if you barley push it to the left the plastic will flex just enough for you to get that tab out that holds the vent in place

I know. Already too late. Hopefully this is a warning for folks who are going to attempt this. I did buy the extra square couple for each side of the vent thinking I probably would lost them. Darn, I didn't loose them at all but just snap the latch.

Wouldn't it be easier by removing the radio panel (stock unit that is...)? I've had to get in there a few times already and found it's pretty easy to remove the radio panel 7 lower light panel. Three screws and it pops out. Seems like you should be able to reach the switch clips from underneath.

A telescopic magnet from sears, wally world, or pop boys for around 2.50 will help you get whatever metal clips & screws you might happen to drop during the surgery.

Used a nice thin screwdriver...stuck it under the switch, pushed up on it till it broke. Then I popped the new one on.

BY THE WAY I ONLY BROKE THE SWITCH CAP OFF!! NOT THE SWITCH ITSELF
