Excellent tutorial on the speaker bracket modification sir. A great help to many a Fit owner. Indeed the factory speakers are terrible.

Front and rear speakers upgraded on the 2012 Sport to some Boston Acoustic SX65 coax's I've had laying around for a few years. Thanks to your detailed instructions on the speaker brackets it went smoothly.

Unfortunently, I can hear almost no difference in sound quality. That factory head unit has to go I fear. Or an amp added. However, like others have posted I believe the factory head unit has some type of crossover in it that prevents the full range of sound be delivered to the speakers.

I dont mean to hijack the OP thread. But I installed a new single DIN Pioneer head unit tonight. The difference is night and day. The new speakers have a good signal now and sound completely different than with the factory head unit. Now I just have to deal with the fact that nobody makes a correct color fit kit for a 2012 sport.

I thought that I could only do that if I had a double DIN unit...I have a single din.
