Questions about Fit Navigation/phone integration
Hello all -
I've just started looking at used Fits and after test driving a new 2013 model, I definitely liked the navi system with phone integration (this is US market, btw).
I was doing some searching and I found a 2009 model through cars.com with navi built in, but the head unit looks a lot different from the 2013 model - specifically, I didn't see any "phone" buttons, etc.
I was wondering which year phone integration started with the navi system? Is it in the 2009 model, just not as clearly identified?
Thanks for your help!

I'm not sure of the exact year that phone integration became standard but it wasn't an option with the GD's. The only way to get it in an older one would be through an aftermarket radio option, but you still wouldn't have steering wheel controls.

I have an '08 Sport GD3 and factory navi wasn't an option on US models, so all I have is aftermarket. However, I have a very nice aftermarket (Pioneer) and I don't miss having phone controls on the steering wheel - wasn't available in GD3 anyway.
Just one button on the head unit to answer or hang up the phone, everything else is hands free. My voice is picked up by a small mic mounted just to the left of the inside mirror. The other party's voice is pumped through the car speakers. The head unit automatically pairs with my smartphone via Bluetooth whenever my phone is in range.
