installing the amp and sub

is it hard? i'm gonna let Best Buy team take care of mine but i was just wondering if i should, considering they might not know about the Fit well. Have anyone install their system in the Fit yet? and was it easy?

It isn't too hard, pretty standard really. Just make sure they use the remote wire for your amp and not the yellow/black wire for your ignition(it will stay on with the radio off.) Koolkevin said it was a purplewire. You can look at my thread here https://www.fitfreak.net/forums/fit-interior-modifications/7691-audiobahn-atb10at-installed-today.html

The fit is actually very easy to install a sub into. I installed the Audiobahn ATB10AT powered sub into my trunk. Took me about 3 hrs. All the panels come off soo quickly and they are easy to put back together. I install stereo's in my spare time in my garage (for friends n stuff) so ive done around 100 headunit in my time.

The fit's wiring is the same as the 06 civic 2dr EX w/o navigation so i guarentee that they have the wiring schematic for the fit.

The only thing i should tell you to tell them would be to find out if they run the power and the RCA wires separately. If they don't ask them to they shouldnt charge you more. The reason i say this is b/c if you run the RCA and the Power wires together, you will receive a static signal from the alternator and it will come out of ur subwoofer and sound awful. I bet ur asking "what do you mean run them separate?" easy my friend. Run the power wire down the driver side of the car and the RCA down the passenger side of the car. The remote turn on you can run it on either side due to it not carrying high loads of electricity like those amp wires. Hope this helps ur doubts!

I thought you were pulling the input for the sub from the back speakers? So did you use a high level converter? If so did you install it behind the dash then?

At best buy, they have a RCA convertor box for like $26 bucks or something. 65watts. They hooked mine up and wired up the amp. I bought a 500watt Rockford Capacitor just for fun and to keep things from dimming. (if there is any dimming at all) Dimming the lights with the System was horrible on my CRX.

My wife works there so I don't know the retail price on the install.

Only go to Best Buy if you know the people there or have heard good things about it. Every store is different.

Bypass Module...

basically u'r gonna have to tap in the RCA module for the amp. I don't know the wires so I can't help you on that.

Be careful and find a pro!!!!

https://www.fitfreak.net/forums/fit-interior-modifications/6949-added-bass-factory-stereo.html

Check out my install but be warned, I went to a pro with a good rep and they still didn,t have a very easy time with this install.
Putting a line tap on just one speaker won't give you optimal bass response best to tap all 4 lines to mantain balance and give excellent bump.
I am not a mathamatecian but I did take electronics technology and I know that adding resistance to one line no matter how small may cause problems in the long run, the best way is to either tap both back lines or all 4 lines at the head unit.
There are some nice new products from Rocford, Alpine, Sony, and others for O.E.M. integration but they were all out of my budget for now since I will eventually replace the factory radio as soon as someone releases the kit to mod the dash, It is in progress by scosche and other manufacturers.
I went to all the radio people in my town and when I was confident I took the parts and got a quote.
The unit was installed the next day and is ROCKING...
P.S. Labor was all my guy charged since I took all th parts and it was darn well worth paying for..

Hopefully not ...

The way it was explained to me is dont cut any factory wires , use in-line clips, a pro will have them.
As long as he follows the shop manual or knows honda radios he wont have any prob.
I am running 2 12" Rockford P1 off a P325.1 amp and have to keep the levels down so the mirror doesn't break off. Amp remote is almost an essential item as I can use the bass boost to lower bump when i pass a LAWman, I paid one $80 ticket too many when I had my Isuzu Trooper.

i got some inline clip, now what are the colors that i suppose to tap into?
purple wire for remote.
there are 4 speaker wires, 2 front and 2 rear, anyone know the color for them? should i get 2 rca converters for front and rear or should i just get one converter and just run it from the 2 speaker in the rear?
Did anyone have to drill thru the metal to get the power wire from the battery to inside the car? i didn't see any opening to run that 4 gauge power wire
thanks you much for your input =]

There is a grommet on the passengerside of the car with a harness through it.

all you have to do is pull out the grommet and shove the 4 guage through you will see it surface under the dash by the kickpanel.........

i did not finish my install but i have pwer ground and rca already ran in the car. power on the pass side and rca and remote on the driver's side.

but lastly i need help on the wiring behind the radio......i want to add a sub and i am installing the high low converter.......i need some help fellas what is the pinout????
