Tints
$100??? that's gonna be a pretty crappy tint job i think... remember, depending on if u get the front done, the Fit has either 5 or 9 windows to tint. That includes those little triangular ones next to the side mirrors.
The basic tint was $199 or $230 for the 3m HP which I had done. You probably can get the film cut for less than $100 and you install it yourself. I watched them do mine and afterwards I felt like I had gotten my money's worth. There is a skill in doing it right and it's a time consuming job even for fast experienced installers.
They took off or looseed all four door panels, the 3rd brake light on the hatch and made sure that there were no bubbles.
I contacted the shop that does the tinting for all the dealers in the Escondido Auto Park. All the good shops charge the same price and are busy because they do good work.
I think you get what you pay for when you are paying primarily for skilled labor. The film cost is expensive, but not as expensive as the labor.
The tinting makes a hugh difference in keeping the interior comfortable. Good luck!

$100 for tint? You're gonna get crap for that little. I'd think $200-ish would be the low end for a 5 door car. You have 7 windows to do... my coupe, which has 5 windows, cost about $180 at a reputable shop. I'm expecting when I get my Fit, it will be in the area of $200-220.
$175 to $250 is the going rate for first quality tinting with 7 year to lifetime warranty.
Tint does get old and hazy after about 7 to 9 years.
Properly applied high quality tint doesn't fade or bubble up.
Make sure that it is legal in your area otherwise you risk a ticket and you'll need to remove the tint- about $25 per window.

Thanks, nah its not that im looking for a cheap tint job Its just that the last time I got one in FL and it was around that price and it was done very well. I dunno I figured I might get some luck here in CA but obviously not. Whatever I figure i might as well bite the bullet so i wont have to deal with anything worse years later. Thanks anyway.
