Road Warrior 2015 GK LX

People kept steeling my wheel covers so I took them all off and rather like the look of the steel wheels. Friends laughed when they saw these wheels with the new Michelin tires...

What a great car, especially in manual transmission like this one.

Complete stock with no mods.. I'm in New Orleans and am thinking of selling it but I'm not sure what I would get that I'd like better...

I don't mind steel wheels and actually prefer them for winter tires. I have always sanded and painted mine.

Having said that, I can't imagine any reason why someone would steal hubcabs. Did they all disappear at once or slowly over time? In other words, were they stolen or did they just fall off?

Are those snow tires? The tread looks pretty beefy.

I'm currently using Blizzak snow tires on my 15" steel wheels (with plastic Autozone hubcaps) and I'll be switching back to the stock 16" alloys soon, maybe this weekend. We hardly had any snow this winter!

First I noticed one missing and thought it had fallen off. Then a week later I noticed another was missing on the same side- the side on the sidewalk so not as easy to see from the street. When I looked up replacement OEM hubcaps from Honda, I saw that they sell in pretty used condition for $60 plus tax and more new from Honda. I figure the thief intended to sell them on eBay.. These prices are absolutely bananas but I digress... Anyway, I decided to remove the other two before someone else did. I'll probably list them for sale soon.

I like the idea of sanding and painting. I might try that. I saw that they can be spray painted pretty easily by putting playing cards between the tire and the wheel.

Not snow tires per se, but rather "all weather" tires. I did some research and these Michelins last a long time and perform very well in all conditions. They weren't cheap but well worth the $$$

It doesn't take much contact with the curb to knock a hubcap loose where it's ready to go AWOL the next time you hit a pothole. The fact that both of your missing covers were on the curbside makes that explanation seem more likely.

If some nefarious character knew how much the hubcaps were worth, why would they only take one and then wait a week before taking the second?

Good questions- I park in the city on a street that is very sketchy. On top of that, I never hit curbs and these things are on TIGHT. It is actually surprisingly difficult to pull off the hubcaps. Lastly, there are always people sitting on the sidewalk on the car side to be out of sight to do their thing. I'm 99% sure they got pulled off the car because it was easy and the person pulling them off could not be easily seen.
