so infuriating. I hope you're taking it well and had good insurance.

I used to hang around with a couple of guys (I try not to call them friends) who got rowdy and did stupid things when they got drunk. I remember a time when one of them boys hit a parked car in our own neighborhood with a beer bottle. Then some months later he comes out of a bar and the door of his ep is kicked in. I gave one cheer for karma.

Here's hoping karma catches up with these jerks too.

umm well waiting to hear back from the adjuster. Luckily my girlfriends dad is high up in a body shop and had a key to open it. we had my car towed to the shop the same day, it was closed on sunday and the tow company would have brought it to their place of business of wherever. So that made things a lot easier. They are going to do an estimate for me there, so as soon as i hear back from them ill know for sure what ill be doing.

As far as a next car, ill just have to see what happens with insurance.

I dont see it making from this, 98% of the body is damaged. They would have to replace pretty much the full outside of the vehicle including front bumper and side skirts due to the tow truck. And im sure there is glass all in my a/c vents. i got in the car to unlock the steering wheel and the a/c blew glass all in my face when i turned the ignition on.

Only time will tell.

yeah im ok, just stressin on how this insurance is going to play out considering i still out a huge amount on the vehicle. the estimated damage was over $14,000.

yes, i do have GAP insurance and of course full coverage. but after insurance pays me for the car or whatever and gap covers the difference in the loan i think im going to be left with nothing, no car and no spare cash to use towards a new car from them. ive never been in this situation before so im unsure of how it all plays out.

as far as getting a new fit, im not really a fan of the 09 models hence the 08 i bought. it was the last 08 fit in a 2 state radius so i grabbed it.

all i can do now is sit and wait to here from my insurance company. they've already contacted the body shop so im assuming since the damage was a huge amount of $ to repair they are going to send someone out to look at it.

maybe by thursday or friday i'll have heard something for an update.

Try and get the insurance company to track down and put you into a replacement. That way they can't short you, really, because they have to make sure you have enough to actually get into one. Since you would want an '08 you gotta go used anyway.

It's in their best interest to put you into another car. Cause if you aren't in a car you aren't paying insurance

i'll sell you my 07 w/ 30k on it and i'll even drive it down to you, i want a 09 w/nav&vsa - i have tons of custom stuff check out my pics on my profile (every bit of black on my car is vinyl and can be removed, yes even the ft. emblem)

So sorry to hear about your Fit. The crappy news is even if the perp was caught, he would most likely only have to pay your deductable as restitution. And if the offender is a juvenile the cost would be deferred to his parents. If the parents afford to pay restitution, you will still be screwed in the long run.

I once handled a call where two juveniles absolutely destroyed an S2000 in a parking lot of a bar. When caught minutes later both just stated that they were bored and thought it would be funny to screw with someone's nice car. Each was ordered to pay $250.00 toward the insurance deductable and they spent 12 hours in Juvenile Hall.

The justice system has many flaws that will make the victim feel like a victim over and over again.
