Yokohama ADVAN AD08:

I love them! I've been a fan of Yokohama for over 10 years. These are really grippy for when I want to take corners faster, do well in the rain (as there was a tornado/thunder storm in my area), and overall wonderful summer tyres. 10/10 Would order these again.

I also have the Yokohama envigor tyres for the winter:

They are pretty quiet and have performed well in the snow. I use to use the AVS ES100 but then the S-drives replaced those. Both of those were okay but the envigor is much better for my driving style in the winter conditions.

That's great, I noticed that the Yokohama Envigor don't come in 205/50/15. How many miles have gotten on the Yokohama ADVAN AD08?

Yea, that's unfortunate. I think I have 195/50/15.

Last year I probably put about 150 miles on them. This year I decided to actually drive on my Mugen wheels for the summer instead of just for shows and meets. So I probably have put 1k or so on them this summer. If I do a long drive though that is longer than 1 hour, I generally will switch back to my Envigors.

Why?

When I take my Miata into work on ZII's....I'm near an hour each way.

Dunno, I guess I mentally think that I can prolong the tyre life that much longer by avoiding "long" trips. I also currently don't have money to replace the tyres either until I graduate so that's another reason I get nervous about driving on my Mugen wheels for too long.

Is it because of the tread life rating?

You don't have too worry much, AD08s and AD08Rs wear fairly well for such a soft tire.

I'm a VERY aggressive/spirited driver and had gotten about 8 to 10k miles on my AD08s (purchased used at 8/32nds). Currently killing off my first set of AD08Rs and have maybe 4 to 5/32nds tread remaining (new is 9/32nds) with maybe 4 or 5k miles.

Keep in mind, both tire sets DID see autocross days and were not pampered at all when on my car. So your's should last much longer depending on your driving habits and vehicle alignment.

While on the subject of ENVigors... I think my last (and final) set didn't even hit the 20k mile mark. MAYBE 15k miles but that's pushing it since they're ALL at 3/32nds.

I was looking at the reviews on tirerack they seem to get a decent mileage. I'm pretty sure if the tire rotations are done and everything to maintain the tires they should last pretty long.

I'm glad to hear all these positive reviews. I drive fairly calm (and slow) so I'm hoping to get the most miles out of these tyres.

When I graduate and start working, I'll actually be able to use these tyres for what they're made for instead of babying them... haha!

After looking around for four years... I finally was able to source this holy grail.

I'll be polishing this piece later in the fall and then adding titanium heat treated bolts to make it really pop in my engine bay.

Be on the look out next year when I finally reveal it!

The only one that I know of in the United States was a prototype made by Mackin Industries a few years ago. That obviously did not capture enough interest with the general public so they did make anymore. The prototype was sold to someone in Cali. I spoke with the guy years ago and offered him a lot of money but he didn't take it. Dunno what happened with that.

Since then, I've seen one or two pop up but from overseas. Recently, I contacted a friend from Malaysia and he was able to source me one.

ARC Magic is one of the rarest, if not the most rare, intake for the GD.
