Sold Corvette, bought Fit!

Specifically, an '08 Sport (5 speed). In the snow belt, I need a car I can drive anytime/anywhere -- and the Vette was not it! Besides, I'm really a 4-cylinder guy at heart -- I've always liked a smaller FWD car. But I had read/heard a lot about the Fit... and when I test-drove this car, was really impressed with the power and handling.

Just picked it up last night, though -- so this is the only photo I have, so far! (And no, it is not on its side! I'm sure this is an idiot-noob problem, but I couldn't figure out how to get the image to display right-side-up!)

lol

This is so funny, it's like the Fit is the car you buy after your mid-life crisis cruser doesn't work out. I hate corvettes. If you ever want to see a more depressing car show go to a corvette fest. It is mostly old timers sitting down with a bunch of yellow versions with each owner thinking they have a rare version.

Ha! I was a member of the local Vette club (well, I still am, since my dues are paid for this year), and at least half their events get cancelled -- because of the chance of isolated, widely scattered showers and stuff! OH MY GAWD, I JUST HAD IT DETAILED, IF IT RAINS IT'S RUINED!!!! Me, I'd drive around looking for a nice, healthy thunderstorm so I wouldn't have to wash mine!

And I must say, just over 24 hours in, the Fit is much more fun to drive than the Vette. It's like, wind me up and turn me loose, let's go! This car is going to be Some Kind of Fun on a squiggly road.

OK -- here's one that's right-side up!

Hello and welcome to the forum! You'll be surprised what a stock GD3 (your generation Fit) can do in stock form. Either Motor Trend, Car & Driver, or Road & Track tested the '07/'08 Fit and found that actually did the lane change test faster than a C6 Z06.

Anyway, hope you enjoy it! Feel free to look around the forum and ask any questions if you can't find the answers here.

Side note: Did you hear about what happened at the National Corvette Museum? A sink hole swallowed up 8 rare Corvettes...

Very interesting that a former vette owner is impressed by the Fit power!

Certainly feels like its only a few horses less than a vette and almost pulls the same Gs on the skidpad.

It definitely get more looks than a vette while sitting at a stop light.

And the cops.....they look at the Fits cross cause they know we always street race and smoke the tires off the rims.

Ok, enough of the sarcasm. Im glad you love the Fit. Its an awesome vehicle and I am extremely happy with it as a daily driver.

Heh… the car is simply too much fun. I take off this morning for work, and I’m like, “Hey, it’s 7:00 in the morning, and we’re just going to the train station for a day at the office.” But you give it a little gas and it’s like, “Hey, what are you waiting for? Let’s wind it up! The green light’s off – I’m warmed up. Now STEP on it!”

My only complaint is I didn't get a M/T fit. Got the auto with CVT so the lady could drive when she needs to. It just is not the same

Yup welcome lots of guys and girls made the switch to these cars from faster ones. I never had a corvette but I did own a Cobra,Evo8 and a S2000CR. Now the S2K was a fun car but hands down the Fit is close to as fun and way more practical. Now I don't have a Fit any more due to my wife taking mine lol. But I do have a 2006 Scion XB. Which reminds me a lot of the Fit except for the suspension.

I think there are a number of guys here that sold their sports car for a tin can econobox.

I've had a few myself, but the Fit is definitely a keeper and I'm glad I switched. Light, agile, reliable and fun. What a true Honda was meant to be.

My GD is great, but I'm hoping I won't get sucked into trading it in for the new GK. Gotta twart off the urge to test drive.

The prelude wasn't a sports car by any means but that's what I came from.

195 HP 156 TQ to 109 HP 105 TQ

I love it though, I haven't had a single issue with my Fit. I've had tons of issues with my other Honda's. Don't know why though.

Another american muscle turned japanese import! Awesome! Welcome!
