The Official Blackberry Pearl Thread
Killer!
A million thanks for the picture! I like it!
It's tasteful conservative purple. Pearlescent paints are supposed to change subtly in varying light. I couldn't be more pleased. Blackberryhunter deserves a nobel prize! Loads of pictures in varying light will be nice. As of yesterday the salesman from the dealership thought my BBP would be here in early November. He said he'd call me when the "ship arrives" (literally).

One person who has actually seen one has said blue, another has said "hints" of purple only when in sunshine. The picture above... blue. Navy blue with only the faintest hint of purple colouring. And believe me, I took that picture into PaintShop and played with it to see if it looked more purple when changing things up.

Give me REAL purple, or give me... Storm Silver Metallic.

Real purple doesn't have to be Barney, but I'd just like a purple that looks purple regardless of if it's sunny, sitting outside, inside, or has gotten a bit dirty. I don't want to have to explain my colour, "No really, it's purple! Just wait until July and when the sun comes out!"
I got up close and personal with one today, taking a break between meetings out of town. I took 8 photos from various angles, but I can't attach them here (yet), and I can't get logged in to my web pages for some reason. Once I upload them to my pages, I'll link them here.
FWIW, it's definitely PURPLE. It's an understated purple though, almost black when not in the light. The photos don't show just how well it glows in the sun, and the car I was looking at was FRESH off the truck... still had the plastic wrap on the hood and front wheels, and the whole interior was still bagged. If I didn't think my wife would have killed me, I would have bought that car on the spot. It was a 5M, and the dealer hadn't added the $700 interior "protectant" or the $300 pinstripe, or the $300 tint job like every other fit on their lot. Ugh.

OK, let's try this:

If you look at all purple colors as ranging from mostly blue to mostly red, this one is on the blue end of the scale, where the amethyst is on the red end. It ain't Plum Crazy like my old Dart was, but I can tolerate a little more subdued than that right now. I mean, since you can't get a yellow Fit over here, this isn't bad at all.
I bet that little car will be really nice when they wash it... it was filthy, as you can see in the pics. The sun was so bright it was giving my old camera fits to show the detail I wanted. Where ever there was a horizontal surface or a crease in the lines, you got a nice bright purple flash. Nice!
