Sounds like the whole package is wider.

2012 CRZ 25 in, 26 out.

MT
Left 513—518 mm (20.20-20.39 in)

Right 472-477 mm (18.58-18.78 in)

CVT

Left 508—513 mm (20.00-20.20 in)

Right 823-828 mm (32.40-32.60 in

2009 Fit Manual 25 in, 26 out.
A/T

Left 528—533 mm (20.79-20.98 in)

Right 483—488 mm (19.02-19.21 in)

MT

Left 528—533 mm (20.79-20.98 in)

Right 783—788 mm (30.83-31.02 in)

Some numbers I came up with while researching the CRZ LCAs. You can see Fit auto axles are the only ones close to CRZ manual axles. The Fit axles are longer than the CRZ which also implies the package is wider.

Sorry about the bold. I cut and paste it from google docs and couldn't remove the bold.

The plan is to run the stock crz manual axles, with the crz half shaft, I just don’t want to bottom them out if they are to long. I’m just going to buy some cheap rockauto units for now, then contact Insane shafts after I know the setup works. It’s a 14 trans, which uses different shafts for some reason.

Looking at "Honda Parts Now" the 2013 and 2014 seem to use the same shafts. Make sure you're not mixing up CVT with manual which really are different.

2014:
2013:Maybe there was an updated shaft that can work in any year. Honda had axle rust issues in fits in this year range.

Yup 11-12 are same, then 13+ axles, starter, clutch are all different… also of course the trans it self is different (better final drive ratio)

I'm looking forward to how this turns out. I've been trying to decide whether to K swap or EV swap my fit. Neither one will be particularly easy.

Just to put a post-script on this. I used a set of RSX e-brake cables I cut down to size to fit. You can buy the proper cables from Japan. The ones for the GE Fit-RS. With shipping they're about $100 each. I had RSX cables sitting around and they worked with some modifications.

I still love looking at my disks every day. I've been wondering lately if I could retrofit the Civic's A arm suspension to the front of the Fit. I have to finish another project first before I can look deeper.
