Fit Braking Stop Times

I do not quite have a fit yet, but I do have a vehicle and do drive quite often. The only problem is that I own a gas guzzling SUV-of-a-Jeep. My only concern with the Fit are the drum brakes. I have never had good experiences with them and I drive hard and fast. Has anyone had problems with the rear drum brakes? I know that they are replaceable but my parents wouldn't fly with "makeshift" brakes when it comes to "my life".
If anyone has any links of 60-0 stop times that would be great. thx.

the stock drum brakes are very good, the 60-0 distance is about 125 feet, i doubt your jeep can beat that. drum brakes are great, they are low maintenance, and the pads last a really long time. the only thing is they do not work very well around a race track, the brakes would fade faster than disk brakes, and plus they're just kinda ugly to look at.

Just belive that they have saved me more than 30times.

This ABS and EBD work AWESOME, they have save me to hit trucks peo ple animals and mountains and also they make you stop even if you spin out ( wich I have of course )

You just make shure that you change the stock front pads for Hawk or whatever brand you want (as long as they are high performance or race pads ) just to eliminate the heat caused brake fade when you are really abusing the brakes.

It works!!! I am alive!!!!!

Yo man, I used to have a 99' Jeep cherokee Laredo and the rear drums on that thing sucked. I drive pretty hard and fast in the canyons and the rear drums on the Fit hold up pretty well; prolly cause the car is so light. I get brake fade after a few runs back to back though and have to take breaks inbetween, but I doubt you'll drive it that hard on the streets.

thx everyone, now i know that it will be able to handle the abuse that i put on some vehicles. Stress, not abuse... abuse has such a negative connotation. Fits, while lacking horsepower, are amazing looking. It was like love at first glance... i thought it was a civic before the commercials aired! i seriously cant wait to get one.

I have been very happy with the braking feel. The car is so dang light that the little drums work just fine.
