How low is too low?
My ride's currently on Cusco comp S coilovers and i've a few questions bout lowering.Read somewhere that goin too low would only mess up the ride's roll center.....mine's been set to have bout an index finger's spacing between the wheel arc and tires for both front and back.Am on 205/50/15 so my guess is i've dropped it around 55mm front and 40mm rear.Would like to know how low is too low and does this theory only apply to stock shocks or coilovers as well? Many thanks!!!
I say too low is when you rub everywhere you go.. or your exhaust scrapes. As for ride's roll center, not sure.. I don't think you can go too low on that part unless you have serious toe/camber issues although negative camber helps w/ handling.
I don't think there is such thing as too low as long as you are able to drive reasonably comfortable and safely with the height you are at in your daily commute.
As long as you don't have to frequently dodge too many potholes, sewer grades, train tracks, dips and are in constant fear of tearing/ripping your gastank, muffler system, front-lip, sideskirts and bumper kit if you have any.
As for lowering a car and stiffening the suspension slightly is a good thing to lower the center of gravity for better cornering and emergency manouvers in-general and to get rid of unnecessary pitch and roll. The degree to how low and stiff your ride is at is a matter of choice for the coilover crowd. For the drop spring crowd...you gotta make sure you choose the right spring model, company and estimated drop with allowance for some minimal settling.

Watch your tire wear. I've seen cars so low that the knock knee or pigeon toed look makes the car turn in on dime but the inside wear of the tires are horrendous.
No such thing as too low!! I want coilovers so I can go lower in my Fit.
I remember my Probe GT. Lowest PGT on the forums I believe. I tucked 15in wheels. Coilovers were as low as I could get them, and I changed the front strut mounts that dropped it another 1-1.5in.
My downpipe had a big dent in it from intersections. Still flowed fine.
Drove great too. I miss it.

Great!! Just the reassurance i need to go lower
i have no issues as yet with scraping....thanks to no kits on the ride, just the stock type S bumpers which look great enuff as they are imo. Will put up some pics when i drop her further.

How are the roads in Singapore or your area in-general?
Here in N.A. (U.S.A. and Canada) the road quality can vary from city, province and state!
Plus those of us who experience cold winters the road maintenance program is always behind.

well they're generally pretty good except for some avoidable killer carpark slopes like shopping centres and such....otherwise coilover friendly i'd say, unless the ride's kitted.btw my spring rates are 5kg/mm (f) & 6kg/mm (r) so they're pretty comfortable for coilovers.
Depends primarily on if you care about cornering performance more or less than style.
For performance, there is an height on some cars that below that point your camber curve prevents your tires from getting the full contact patch in contact with the ground. Where that point is depends on the suspension design. On the WRX, lowering more than about an inch and a half from stock hurt your cornering limits. I'm not sure where that point is on the Fit.
For style, do as the above suggested and go as low as you can go without bottoming out, rubbing, or grinding portions of your car on the road(unless you're into that.)
