Suspension Question

I've got my Fit lowered on Progress springs and i've noticed that one side appears to be slightly higher than the other and i'm trying to figure out what could be the possible causes for this? As far as i know the springs are properly seated and turned in the right direction.. Anyone have a similar problem or have any suggestions?

Thanks

it's a preprogrammed 'flaw' or sideeffect of these efficient, yet cheap,
effective yet cheap torsion suspension system.

some times you get lucky and both sides settle evenly. most of the
time your driver side will be lower than your passenger side. even in
factory form this is apparently pretty normal.

yep. unless you go with coilovers *which are adjustable*, it's really a hit or miss situation

Yeah.
Nearly all cars have a difference in weight load on each side of the axle, even some BMW's. Thats why its important to weigh each corner stock so you can put the heavier rate spring on the higher weight end of the axle. You might want to take into account driver's weight if you A/X.
Otherwise yon can also grind the end of springs (the end with the most uniform seat and not as much as half the wire diameter) to 'even' up the ride height. Yeah, takes work.
All springs a have a tolerance on free length and spring rate so you need tio find the compression on your aftermarket springs by safely loading weights, such as weightlifing ones, and measuring the compressed length.
The one with the most shortening is the lighter of the two. If that doesn't get ride hgt within 1/4" grinding is next.
Experience counts. Good luck.

on my car, the coilovers are set 15mm+ apart on the rear to even
out the rear preload.

the fronts are pretty even with +/- 2mm which is acceptable by me.
