Passenger side grinding while braking?!?!

I have an 08' with 25,000 miles on it and I am having a problem with the brakes. When I brake there is a bad grinding noise that comes from the passenger side. I checked the pads and they are fine, my next thought is that the rotor is warped. Does anybody have an idea?

My '07 Fit is doing the same exact thing with 20K miles. Anyone have an idea what this is?

Check the dust shield behind the rotor and make sure its not too close to the rotor where it might be dragging on it. Other than that take the pads out and se if maybe the caliper piston isnt retracting all the way, doubt it though since you said the pads are fine. MAKE SURE YOU DONT PRESS THE BRAKE PEDAL while looking or youll blow the seal. Does it pull in any direction if you brake with your hands not on the wheel?

check the dust shield. Make sure something didnt become lodged in between the rotor and it. Or that it isnt bent too far in. Hope this helps

Mines not pulling either. It sounds like a lot more than just a dust shield rubbing on something. More of a low, grinding vibration. I only hear it when the car is just about to stop, like the last 5 seconds or so. That is to say I can hold the brake down and slow up but only at the last 5 seconds will I hear this noise. It's quite loud when it occurs and it only seems to occur after the car has been driven for a while. I plan to bring it in to the shop next week. I'll post the results.

I read on another forum where a person is having the same exact problem with her Fit.

Also u might want to check the two brake pad retainer clips on the cailpers are not rubbing againt the rotor. They look like small u-shaped copper sheet metal clips that the pads slide on.

I had my 2007 Fit in the shop yesterday for the mysterious grinding noise. It was my brakes. They told me they have been seeing a lot of Fit's come in for unusually early brake jobs. Some with only 13,0000 miles. I have 23,0000 on mine so it sounds about right. Anyway...mystery solved, no big deal or expense.
